Yungaburra Soldier On Triathlon

By TRIRRIFIC

Luke (The Fish), Dane (All in his stride) and Dave (Peddle Power) are teaming up to do the Yungaburra Triathlon https://yungaburratriathlon.org/ Olympic distance team challenge to help raise money for Soldier On charity to help serving and ex-serving men and women to reintegrate into society and have the best reintegration generation so far.

For more information follow the link to https://www.soldieron.org.au/how-we-help/about-soldier-on/

This is the 3 rd running of the local Yungaburra triathlon, run alongside the Afghanistan Avenue of Honour. http://www.avenueofhonour.com.au/

It was supposed to be run last November but since the swim leg was able to be walked due to low Tinaroo dam levels it is being run on the 22 and 23 of April just before that special time of year Anzac day.

We’d love it if you could donate a few dollars and help us raise our $1,000 target and support a few more people with some help to reintegrate. To inspire us to train a bit more and to Soldier On during the event and realise how lucky we are to live in a great country with great people in a special part of the world.

How far will your donation go?

$60 pays for the staff fees for a ex-serving member and their family to have a consultation with a Reintegration Officer, who can offer advice and begin to connect them with the services offered by Soldier On and other support organisation.

$100 covers the facility and instructor fees for a 1 hour wellness session for 10 Veterans. These range from Art and Music sessions, to sports activities and Yoga. These sessions connect the Veterans with other like minded people and fosters friendship and support whilst developing new skills.

$165 Covers the cost of a session with a Psychologist, which fosters the positive trajectory of recovery for both the Veteran and their family.

$250 Covers the cost of a session with a career adviser. Ex-serving members have a wide array of skills that are often difficult to translate into civilian equivalence. The development of a professional CV greatly assists with confidence and comportment while looking for a job in the real world.

$300 Covers the cost of a Family Day for 5 Veterans and their families. Often, it is difficult to spend quality time with the family outside the house, and this Family Day provides that experience.

These are just indications above, it can be any amount that suits you.

Thank you!
