Mt Kilimanjaro hike for mental health awareness

By Josh Brearley

Having had a granddad affected by PTSD after his return from WWII, in 2015 I created a 13 sport challenge campaign and reached that target at the end of the year. In 2017, I created a Mt Everest base camp challenge campaign and placed a Soldier On flag at the camp.

In 2018, follow me and donate to Soldier On, whilst I train and complete my latest campaign, the hike to Mt Kilimanjaro, where I will place another Soldier On flag, this time at the highest peak of Africa. The hike from the plains of Tanzania to the top of Africa will take 1 week with an elevation gain of 4,300 m. Mt Kilimanjaro is 5,900 m above sea level. I then have to descend. At 5,500 m the oxygen level is 50% of that at sea level. Australia's highest mountain, Mt Kosciusko, is 2,220 m above sea level.

You can also donate by texting 'JETSETTINGJOSH' to 0400 866 866 (Australia mobile phone number). It's that easy - it takes less than 60 seconds to donate.

These are my facebook profile pages, Instagram, Google + and website where you can follow the adventure.
