Hours to Go
What am I up to, I hear you ask...
On Monday the 2nd of September I set off from Birdsville aboard my dirt bike heading 450km due West across the Simpson Desert over some 1100 sand hills to reach Dalhousie Springs… and then turn around and do it all again returning to Birdsville 5 days later.
For someone who can’t sweat a drop the desert is probably not the ideal place to go for a ride but hey, I'm up for the challenge… and it’s for a great cause as you'll read below!
I won’t be alone, as a handful of my mates will be on the ride with me, together with 30+ others riders and a number of volunteer support crew in 4WD vehicles. It’s a fundraising ride organised by Frontline Safari a group of volunteer ex-service members to help their mates transition back into community and work.
The purpose of this rise is to assist in raising much needed funds for SOLDIER ON.
Who is SOLDIER ON?
Soldier On is focused on helping to secure the futures for all those who have served and continue serving our nation. We recognise that this service goes beyond the ADF uniform and reaches into our National Security Agencies.
Soldier On assists:
- Those who have been adversely impacted as a result of service to their nation in a national security capacity
- Those with a family member who has been adversely impacted as a result of service to their nation in a national security capacity
If you feel like you would like to help and are in a position to assist, then please get behind SOLDIER ON and assist me with this fundraising.
All donations go directly to the work of SOLDIER ON, not to me, nor Frontline Safari.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
