F45 Training

By F45 Gawler, Glenelg & Noarlunga

This year in the lead up to Anzac Day we have decided to raise funds for veteran suicide prevention. With many members having served or currently serving in the ADF this charity is close to our hearts.

Some words from one of our members and a veteran himself - Michael Brewer.

“At a time when we remember our fallen and recognise the sacrifices made by our current and ex serving members of the Australian Defence Force. We want to raise an awareness and raise funds to help Soldier On in their work to prevent the increasing rate of veteran suicide.
There have been at least 500 veteran suicides in Australia since the start of the Afghanistan war, a number that dwarfs the number of lives lost on the battlefield, at 41.
On average 1 veteran every 2 weeks will take their own life. There is often no single cause or event that leads someone to take their own life. The causes of mental health problems among veterans are complex, and so are the solutions. We need the support of the F45 community to help Soldier On to continue building and providing the right services to ensure the wellbeing of all veterans and bring an end to this tragic loss of life.
As a veteran myself, serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. I know how hard and how dark it can be at times. F45 Gawler has been amazing for my own mental wellbeing and I know it has helped others. I have met other ADF members and together we want to give back to the veteran community. We will be completing a triple Hollywood this Saturday to raise money towards this important cause. I hope you will join us.”

A very worthy cause. I hope many people get behind this. A small donation from many will show and help these men and women who need our help that their service sacrifice and dedication is appreciated and help is at hand to help them deal with their pain and suffering.

I have a nephew in the Army and am well aware of issues they face like a lot of other people. Every little bit of help helps x

To those who sacrificed all, to those who came home with wounds we cannot see physically to those serving our nation today, thank you. Lest we Forget.
